Reverse telecine and interlacing
I shot 1080i24p on a HVX 200. I transferred the footage into FCP7 and that footage is 29.97fps and looks interlaced. Using Compressor I ran a reverse telecine following the instructions provided here https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/8/995940. Now the footage is 23.98fps but it still looks interlaced in FCP.
Someone described a similar problem in a previous post here and it was suggested that they should
“click on the icon of the video and change the field dominance from Progressive to Upper so that Compressor knows that the clip you are sending is interlaced and not progressive.”Is this the right fix? If so, should the filed dominance be changed in FCP or Compressor?
