  Downconverting with edge crop in FCP 7

  I’ve shot HDV 16X9 footage that I need to downcovert with an edge crop in FCP7. I did this once in FCP 5. Now there are so many digitize choices I am lost in the Maze.

  I have the camera set to edge crop and the digitize setting to NTSC Standard, but it just seems to be “squishing” the footage into 4×3 rather than cropping the edges.

  As usual, this has got to be a user error issue. Any help. I’m pretty new to 7.
