Whenever I add filters, or do anything, really, to H264 clips from my D7000 in Final Cut, the clip is sped up and the second half of the original length is black. This renders out as well as plays back. The “change speed” is still at 100%. What gives?

Final Cut Pro does not support h264 video. If you can’t log and transfer the clips to ProRes 422, then use mpegstreamclip to convert them to ProRes 422 prior to editing.

Or, perhaps just use FCP X. It works natively with h264. As does Premiere, Avid, etc.
