    Hello Guys,

I have some questions I wanted to ask regarding my post production work-flow.

I had my Super 16mm film (29.97fps offline edit) transferred to 2K DPX files and I intend to color correct with DaVinci or Color.

I’m curious about cropping and color correction.

    1. Does either software allow for manual cropping? Can I re-frame my 1:66 scans – individually – shot by shot for the 16:9 crop for export to HD CAM?
    3. Is it possible to do titles in either one or is it best to do them in FCP?
    4. Is there another better software (if I have handwritten .png opening titles I’d like to import)?
    5. I assume I want to convert the final color correction to Apple Pro Res 4444 + 23.98 if I’m going to output to HDCAM for festival submission. I can do this through FCP?

    Thank You,
    -Boris

Both Color and DaVinci will allow you pan/scan/distort your footage.

They are color correction. They don’t do titles. For that you can use FCP, Motion, After Effects, etc.

FCP can export out ProRes444 as your master.
