  Sequence compressor settings from DVD

  I am editing interviews that were ripped off a DVD handed in by volunteers. It was shot in Ireland and I converted it to quicktime so that fcp could read it. The problem is that when I put the clips into a sequence it requires hours of rendering, it there something I could change my sequence settings to that would do away with the need to render or at least make the rendering time shorter?

  Either re-rip it in a QuickTime format that FCP likes (such as ProRes) or use what you’ve got and set your SEQUENCE settings to match. (But that will depend on what format your current QuickTime is. Won’t work with Animation codec, for example.)
