  How would you create this effect in FCP or is it After Affects?

  Can anyone help? I am trying to work out how to get a similar effect to these two videos.

  It is the section that makes it look like a flash has gone off and taken a still but then the video continues leaving a faint outline of where the flash went off (sorry not a great explanation but you should get it from looking at the links)

  the first is 0.42 to 0.46 on this video

  Stephen Smith has a COW tutorial on this “time slice” effect. You can do this in AE or in Apple Motion (with some work). Try a keyword search for it.

  Thanks for that, I had a look at Stephens tutorial, it is good. You dont know of one that would explain how to do it in AE?

  When i try and search for a ‘time slice’ effect i get lots of tutorials on how to do the Matrix bullet effect rather than the one we are speaking about!
