    Hey folks,

have a slight conundrum- I have been couriered a project for FCP that has a combination of files in DV, and MXF. I have in the past transcoded MXF files into prores using the sony XDCAM transfer tool, but I Know that these files were readable in the FCP edit suite where the project first resided. I”m wondering if there is an XDCAM (.MXF) codec that can be installed for quicktime that I’m just not aware of. Any thoughts on this?

The FCP project reads the file as 1440×1080, XDCAM HD 1080 compressor, upper field if that helps.

    appreciate any help ASAP. Thx!

Talk to the other editors, but I’ll wager they had software that allowed their system to read the MXF files…like MXF4MAC or Calibrated or Raylight. And there are multiple cameras that shoot MXF, not just XDCAM. DVCPRO HD p2, AVCIntra P2, Canon XF and C300 cameras…
