Different frame rates end exporting to pro tools
Hello!
I’m having a problem sending audio from an edit to pro tools.
The timeline is set to 25fps and contains media from 2 different sources: the first is in 48kHz, 16 bits (from a 25fps source) and the second is 48kHz, 32 bit floating (from a 29.97 fps). this sound had to be rendered by FCP.
I’ve been exporting separately the media from the two sources via automatic duck to an aaf file. The 25fps opens up fine and in sync, the other 29.97 fps sounds however do not match the audio from the quicktime reference: their in-points are different.
i’ve tried copying the 29.97 audio to a 29.97 timeline and sending that to pro tools and I get slightly different in points and audio that drifts in and out of sync.
I realise mixing the two frame rates is not ideal and should have been avoided, but any ideas as to how I can the correct info to the sound guy?
Thanks for your time and helpNathan
