I’m doing some pretty basic text stuff in FCP. A client sent me the font they use for most everything. It’s a ttf. It worked in After Effects, but FCP doesn’t list it. I restarted, still doesn’t show. Any ideas?

maybe you put it in the wrong place.

Try opening the Boris text generator in FCP and see if the font appears. Sometimes FCP will not display font variables and the same fonts in Boris come up with bold and solid variations that FCP doesn’t list.

I think there is a bit of freeware around that forces FCP text boxes to fully display fonts but I can’t recall off the top. Perhaps search this forum and you might find it. Personally I just prefer to use the Boris gen which is part of FCP.

The other alternative is Motion which can generate text.

Thanks, but as I said, all my other programs display it properly.
