size of the DVD video
In general what is the max size of the DVD video?
I mean the DVDs which have got menu section and all other DVD features- what is the size of these DVD.
I recently checked the size of the DVD that I rented- its was around 7GB. how come a DVD will have size more that 4.7GB.
My assumption is- all DVD files will have max size of 4.7GB. Anything beyond that size needs a blu-ray disk to hold the data.Please clear my understanding.

There many types of dads. DVD-1, DVD-2, DVD3, etc. The most popular are DVD-5 (Single Side Single Layer) and DVD-9 Single Side Dual Layer). You are familiar with DVD-5. Most DVDs that your rent are DVD-9.

There are double layer DVDs that have more space.

A dual-layer DVD has double the capacity of a single-layer DVD.

most of them were DVD 9 or DVD10.
