  General Error Message on FCP 7

  I was looking to edit footage from a drive I hadn’t touched in a few months and part of the footage, shot with a FS-5 external recorder, which shot directly to QuickTime files, seems to be damaged or at least not willing to open/play. When I try and open any of the files in FCP I get a ‘General Error’ message and am not sure why this is happening.

  Additionally, when I try and open the raw footage in QuickTime, I get a message that says that the file could not be opened because the media may be damaged.

  Any idea as to why this is happening? If so, advice?
