  Playback Errors After Rendering Text

  I’m using FCP 7, and at the beginning of my timeline I’ve got two simple slides of text over a solid color background. For some reason, I have to render this text to get it to play back, but after rendering, it no longer plays back correctly. The second text slide comes on long before it should, and when the playhead arrives at the second slide, playback just goes black. I’ve deleted render files, rebooted FCP, reset scratch discs and so forth. I’m editing XDCAM footage, and my sequence settings match the source footage.

  Any idea what’s going on? Thanks!
