  • Upresing dv pal 16:9 progressive to 720p – Getting jagged lines

    Ok so heres the story.

If I play my original clip before its been uprezzed in quicktime, and view it at say 300% bigger, the edges are still very smooth no jagged lines.

I run the clip through compressor, with frame control set to the absolute highest settings, and convert it to a 720p, and I even set anti aliasing to 22. I get massive amounts of jagged edges all over the clip!

I just want to be able to put this DV PAL 16:9 clip into a 720p timeline, ready for online viewing. I will be doing this on a fortnightly basis (we broadcast in SD, but produce our programs in 720p, there is a section of live Q&A which is recorded live via a blackmagic card at DV PAL, as the broadcast equipment can only do SD).

So any solutions on how to get the uprezzed version looking like it does in quicktime when viewed at 200 or 300%???

Any help is most appreciated here

In frame controls, are you changing the fields to progressive and using best deinterlacing?

I sure am. Although all of the cameras are set to progressive (PSF) anyway.
