  workflow to capture footage and convert to .avi

  Hey guys, I gotta capture some digibeta tapes today on final cut pro and then transfer to .avi. I was thinking to capture them as DVCPRO NTSC and then convert them using mpegstreamclip to avi. Would that be a good workflow? Will those new .avi clips work on any PC?

  I would at least capture 8 bit uncompressed.
