FCP HD output to digital media player
Hi all,
I am trying to troubleshoot an issue I’m having setting up a looping video display using a Micca slim player. I’m hoping this is just a dumb question and not a stumper.
It appears when I’m outputting my Pro res 422 1080i video as a self-contained movie from FCP that it may be creating an additional hidden file?!
I’m placing the file on an SD card and sliding it into the Micca player. It then appears as two files. Yet that second file does not appear on my iMac even when I enable viewing of hidden files.
It looks like this:
myvideo.mov
_myvideo.mov (this is the file name for the extra hidden file that I can only see in the Micca).I want the qt file to autoplay so need to place it on the root of my SD card. Unfortunately the Micca keeps trying to read the extra file so it returns an error and will only play my movie once.
The interesting thing is that I have had no problem getting original D7000 footage to loop in this way as it does not have the extra file with it.
Since I can’t see the file on my computer I can’t remove it. Is there some setting in FCP or Compressor that will remove this tagalong file and make it appear like my native footage?
Any musings (even a best guess) as to what is going on would be much appreciated. I’m new to HD work so I’m hoping it’s just my newbie status!!
THANK YOU!
