    Hello there,

    I have 2 questions today :

1/ I’m currently working with 2K ProresHQ footages in FCP.
When I’m working with these in my timeline it’s a little bit jerky (don’t know if it’s the correct word). It’s ok for me to work like this but I would love it to be as if I was editing 1080p.
Is it a RAM issue ? Or are my disks too slow ?

    I have 8Go of RAM.
All my ProResHQ footage are located in a WD Elements Usb 2.0 1to

2/ Is it forbidden or not an advice to work during the log&transfer or RED footage in FCP ?

    Thanks a lot everybody!

FCP only addresses 4gig of RAM so not a RAM issue. What drives do you use. You can download free disk speed test software from AJA or Blackmagic. Test the drives and compare to the data rates required for that codec, pixel size and frame rate

With USB 2.0 you can’t even edit DV footage in RT.
The minimum you need to play ProresHQ 2K is FW800. e-SATA better.
