  FCP: Audio drifts when combining HD and SD

  Hi,

  I recently shot an event in a large hall-like space with two Canon 5D MkIIs and a Panasonic DVX-100. Audio was taken from the soundboard into a Tascam DR-07 (a .wav file). The 5Ds shot at 24 while the DVX was at 30. I used PluralEyes to sync all the footage up but now I’m having sync issues. The audio from the Tascam isn’t syncing with the other cameras AND the footage from the DVX goes out of sync after a while.

  How do I fix this sync issue? And how can I avoid this situation in the future (without buying another camera)?

  Let me guess. You didn’t convert the H.264 files the Canon produces to ProRes, did you? You used the files natively in FCP…just dragged them into the app and started working…?

  There is your answer to why your audio is out of sync.

  Shoot at the same frame rate.
