I’m looking to capture DVCPROHD 720p60 footage via firewire from the AJ-HD1400 deck with a timecode super. The manual makes it sound like this only works when you have the deck downconverting the footage to SD.

    “DIF SUPER
For setting whether the superimposed display is to be
output from the IEEE1394 digital interface when the
format is converted (from HD to 50M, from HD to DV,
from 50M to DV or from 25M to DV).”

Does anyone know if it’s possible to have the super when capturing HD via firewire?

    Thanks

It is not possible to do what you want. You can get the Super only via the video output connections, not firewire.

I was able to get it via firewire when it is downconverting, just didn’t know if it was possible when capturing HD. I’ve found the manual not to be the clearest on how to do things.

Ah, right, the 1400 allowed it via SD.
