  Recording LIVE Camera into Log & Capture Settings without Time Code.

  Hello,

  I have been trying this all day and just cannot figure it out. I want to Record whatever is in my Camera (not VCR) straight into FCP. However because the footage has no timecode, FCP wont give me the footage in the computer but a complete BLACK screen with a description of No time code, Turn to VTR mode. What does this mean and where do I go from here?

  Change Log & Capture settings to ‘uncontrolled device’ and then capture now will work. Don’t forget to change it back afterwards if you need to capture off tape with timecode.
