I have got a .dvdmedia file that was filmed in 16:9 (TV) and squeezed to 4:3 (= long, thin people…), that I want to use in a 16:9 project.
    I edit in FCP 6.
(I do also have FCP X and Premiere Pro CS5, though the project is in FCP 6.)
Any way to convert this in any of the software I have – or in any other software?

    Sincerely
    /Truls (Stockholm, Sweden)

In the FCP browser you might try clicking on the anamorphic column to put a check mark, which should fix the issue.

    Thanks for your reply, David!
I would try your suggestion if I could only get the file imported into FCP…
My project is in HDV, which might be the reason why I can’t import the original .dvdmedia file (nor a converted .m4v file, nor a converted .mov file) into FCP?

    Sincerely
    /Truls
