    Like everything, I’m sure there is a simple solution using FCP7, but for some reason, everything I capture is playing back in a low-quality format. Almost looks like a phase issue is out of sync and when viewing the clips in the viewer they are soft and consistent color shifting occurs. This has happened with two HD video cameras so I am assuming this has to be coming from FCP. Anyone with any experience here?

    Yes. The Viewer and Canvas are not designed to show you full quality. They are designed to show you the footage so you can see what you are doing. Resolution is lowered so that playback without dropping frames can occur. If you want to see what your footage looks like full res, you need to get an IO device and an HDTV. Like the MXO2 Mini, Decklink Intensity, AJA IO Express or IO XT…

    Also posting your Video specs helps;

    Video Codec?
    From what cameras?
    Sequence settings?

    How are you viewing the footage?
