Is There A Good Scene Detector (or Cut Detector) Plugin for FCP?
I’m wondering if anyone can recommend a good scene detector plugin for FCP? I’m looking for something that I can have a Quicktime of a feature analyzed and (hopefully) get an XML with edits at all the shot changes. I searched the forum and most of the posts regarding this go back a few years, so I’m wondering if there’s more a current answer.
I’ve tried ReCut but can’t seem to get it to work at all in either OS X 10.6 or 10.7 (I mean, I can get it to work, but I can’t seem to import the generated XML back into Final Cut successfully). Scene Detector works, but it only kicks me back a sequence with markers that I’d have to manually go through and add edits. FCP’s built in DV Start/Stop Detect doesn’t work because I usually get one, feature length Quicktime that has no camera clock embedded, and in the end, it does the same thing Scene Detector does.
If anybody has an recommendations for apps, plugins or scripts, that’d be much appreciated. It’s hard to believe that in 2012 there doesn’t seem to be something like this around.
Thanks again for any and all help.
