  exporting video from Canon GL2 into Final Cut 7

  Hey gang…….

  Im beginning a series of short films and I have some questions….

  #1. I am using a Canon GL2. How can I make sure to get the best import into Final Cut and how do I export out of Final Cut Pro with the highest quality.

  #2. Some of my films will also use a Canon 5D, how can I make these two cameras fit the same format. 4×3 or 16×9?

  #3. Ive never edited GL2 footage and 5D footage into the same piece, are there any tricks in the timeline or settings to make this flow smoothly?

  #4. If I want to have Final Cut export to a separate monitor, how is that done?

  I know there is lots there and I might come across as naive, but I sincerely appreciate any help. Thanks for your time.

  With all due respect, Googling would have gotten you some of your answers quicker than waiting for a response.

  #1. Capture DV or DV anamorphic, depending on what you shoot. If you shoot 16:9, capture anamorphic. Read the GL2 manual for more info. Edit in DV and export DV.

  #2. This answer has several factors. Where are you delivering this video to? Web, DVD? What is the majority of the footage, HD or DV? Really depends.
