  Subtiteling workflow (end to end) FCP7

  Hi,

  I am going to be editing a film after Christmas which is shot in Japanese. There will be a translator in Japan during interviews and we can get access to translators in the UK. Is there software/plugins that can help with this? Is there software that can be used by translater to view footage, make in /out points and quickly add text which then can be used to import subtitles into FCP. We are planing on translate a lot of the rushes, not just the final cut.

  Any advice on this, advice on doing interviews with a translator and the whole subtitle thing in general would be much appreciated.

  It has a learning curve, but it can be highly customized with keyboard shortcuts. Once you get the hang of it, it’s fast.

  Undocumented, i have a helper app. that can re-do subtitles if you make an alternative edit. Contact me direct if you want to toy with that.
