Quicktime movies are getting stuck when I bring them into a comp in AE7. When scrolling through one image will get stuck no matter where I am in the timeline. I have to restart the project in order for it to work again and it’ll only work for about one scrub through.

I have tried re-exporting as animation and sorenson 3 out of Quicktime and re-importing in AE. I even rendered something out and only saw one picture while my type overlays played fine.

The quicktime plays fine in Quicktime and in AE when not in a comp. I need to overlay Type Alphas over the quicktime file. I tried changing the memory to 50% and the cache to 10%. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it? It’s happening on multiple computers.

Well, one thing is that when you play a movie in the Project window, it plays through Quicktime … which explains why it plays well there and in QT Player. But that doesn’t help you.

Another thing is you want to avoid importing Sorenson or any other low-data rate codec such as WMV, FLV or MPEG-flavour. Stick to high-quality Animation, uncopmpressed (various), Photo-JPEG, sequences, and so on. But that doesn’t help you either … ?

I guess we need to figure out what those multiple failing systems have in common, if they’re all doing the same thing. Any thoughts on your end?
