  • Bringing back audio to the timeline

Posted by Bryan Nagle on November 17, 2011 at 10:37 pm

In a few instances I have deleted the camera mic’s audio track on the timeline, while its associated video track remains on the timeline. The clips have been trimmed. Is there a way to bring back the audio track for a clip, other than recutting the original clip? Thanks.

Look up “match frame.” That will assist you. But in any case, yes, you’ll have to edit the AUDIO in. But you won’t need to edit the video back in.

park at the head of the clip in the timeline

hit f to match frame the clip w in & out points into the viewer
then F10 to edit the clip back into the timeline.

if you don’t want the video (like maybe you’ve done some fx work to it already)
then de-activate the video target button.
