Hey there, I’ve been given a few mp4 files apparently shot on an ex1. I’m trying to find software that will convert them to an .mov I actually thought MPEG streamclip would do this! It’s turning out to be quiet a mission…

Does anyone know the straight answer to this question? I know it must be something really simple but I’ve never worked with these cameras before so please excuse me 😀

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ben,
You need to use the “SONY Clip Browser” application to rebuild a BPAV folder, then use Log&Transfer to rewrap that as a QT file editable in FC.
Other way is to buy the “Calibrated” plugin that will let you edit the MP4 directly in FC.

I’ve been using Sony XDCAM Transfer; select Import – XDCAM (the transfer window opens) – click Add and choose the folder with the media in it – select the clips and click Import (it makes copies of the media files that are wrapped as “.mov” and brings them into your project).
