  Combining PAL HD and NTSC SD

  I have some PAL HD footage which I want to combine with NTSC SD footage and eventually create an NTSC SD DVD.

  What is the best way to combine the formats please? Should I convert the PAL footage and then have all assets in FCP in one format? Could I identify the clips I plan to use and only convert those?

  How should I convert the PAL footage?

  Something else?

  I like Graeme Nattress’ filter for this. I’d transcode the footage you want to NTSC before you edit.

  Compressor will also do the transfer, but it’s not quite as nice and not as fast.

  Is the NTSC 23.98? Down and standards convert in Compressor
