I disconnected an external drive containing my source clips, then reconnected it, and all the thumbnails in the timeline show “media offline” even though the clips are reconnected in the Browser and the clips play just fine in the Canvas. Not a huge deal, just really annoying. Nothing I’ve tried will “refresh” the timeline, and it’s making it a little hard to edit. Things I’ve tried…

    Closing and re-opening the project.
    Quitting and re-starting FCP.
    Rebooting
Selecting (en masse) the clips and reconnecting. (Not one at a time.) (Just pointed the reconnect to the folder.)

Anyone? What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks!!

    Dave

    Hi Dave,

Delete the FCP Thumbnail Cache file. That’ll sort it.
