MAC OS 10.5.8 Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    FCP 5.1.4
Blackmagic Intensity Card (internal) for external monitor
    HVR-M10U Deck
    Sony HD Monitor-HDMI input.

Problem: Timeline footage will not playback on external Sony HD monitor.

    1. Sony HVR-M1OU deck is recognized by the system. I can capture in HDV. I can also conform the timeline footage and record to the Sony deck in HDV.

    2. However, I am unable to see the footage from the timeline on my external Sony HD monitor. I need to be able to highlight “HDV (1440×1080)80i” in the Audio/Video Settings, however, it is grayed out.

Your guidance will be most appreciated.
    Thank you.

You will need to choose a 1080i Blackmagic setup.

Under VIEW>VIDEO PLAYBACK, you need to choose that Blackmagic option…

    Steve & Shane,

Thanks for your guidance. I was under the impression that I had attempted this previously, however, I might have overlooked it. I tried everything that I could think of and the 1440:1980 was still grayed out.

I’ll give it another go after I complete my present SD project.

    Thanks again.

The card should be set to display 1920 x 1080i 8 bit for playing HDV timelines. There should be a Blackmagic 1080 HDV preset which in Easy Setup sets the output to this.
