  Rendering Flip material makes me crazy

  Guys,

  I have footage from a flip HD camera that needs editing in FCP. I already streamcliped it to .mov (where it was .mpeg4).

  Each time I put the footage in the timeline it needs editing altough it is .mov. And if I Make the clip shorter to gove it more length after (that’s what you sometimes do with clips in the timeline) I find myself rendering again!

  Please help.. (how would FCP X look with this problem)

  What format of .mov? .Mov just mean’s it’s a Quicktime file. But a Quicktime File can be one of a dozen codecs. When you used MPEG STREAMCLIP, did you look at the list of FORMATS you could convert to? It’s a long list. Most of those formats are not editable.

  You need to convert to ProRes. Here’s a tutorial on how to do that, using MPEG STREAMCLIP:
