I’ve been in the post industry for 10 years. Avid, but that turned into FCP – most of my colleagues switched to FCP too. There seems to be an uproar in the industry when we learned Apple was phasing out FCP and only having FCPX. Has anyone heard of Apple reinstating FCP due to the uproar?

They are only selling ADDITIONAL FCP 7 seats to existing customers who have MULTIPLE FCP installations. They have not reinstated selling individual copies of FCP 7.
FCP is EOL. Time to look elsewhere…or use what you have until it no longer works (which is my plan…as well as going to Avid).

first off, thanks everyone for the replies.
question. does this mean theyre just reinstating 7 and wont be upgrading to fcp 8 in the future? i bought fcp 7 for $999. will i be able to upgrade for $299 if theyre continuing to expand new versions?

$299 is the price for full FCPX, this is NOT and upgrade from CS3
