Hey there…having a problem importing my video clips to my timeline without rendering. I captured the video at 640×360 and used MPEG Streamclip to convert to Apple DVCPRO50-NTSC at a frame rate of 24. If I convert it to 720×480 it works fine, but that screws up the aspect ratio. When I convert it at the original resolution of 640×360, I have to render in FCP. How can I fix it that I can import these clips at 640×360 without rendering? Thanks.

640×360 isn’t a standard format…therefore FCP will be required to render it. You need to use standard frame sizes and frame rates in FCP. So the footage should be converted to 720×480 DV50…and you might need to flag it as ANAMORPHIC, as the original size is 16:9, and SD doesn’t have full raster 16:9 dimensions.
