I’ve been struggling with this for a while. The files from my Motorola Droid are .3gp and supposedly 720×480. If I put those into a 720×480 DV sequence, the video is squished vertically and it takes forever to render. If I use MPEG Streamclip to convert them to DV 720×480, they are squished and the audio is out of sync. What is the best way to get these video files into Final Cut?

It’s frustrating that something as popular as a Droid and Final Cut don’t easily work together – shouldn’t matter that Droid isn’t a professional device. I hope iMovie would understand the files, but I don’t know or like iMovie. Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like you need to turn on the anamorphic checkbox in the clip’s properties, and in the sequence setting. If that fails, check to see the clip’s properties by typing cmd+9, and post those properties here.
