    Hi,
    I’m having a lot of problems converting a video from Quicktime to Flash (.FLV) to show on a Web site, and I would be very grateful for any advice. I’ve been trying to use Adobe Media Encoder to do this, and I’m never sure the best settings to put before converting the video. I’d really appreciate it if anyone could recommend the best settings to put within Adobe Media Encoder or resources that tell me how to do this? Or, I also have Compressor and I believe you can accomplish this task through Compressor, although I could be wrong? So if anyone knows better how to do this task through Compressor or some other software that would be great, too.

    Thank you very much,
    Neil

    For Adobe Media Encoder QuickTime to Flash I’ve had success with these settings;

    Select Format FLV/F4V
    In the Export Settings choose the Format tab and select FLV
    In the Video tab I Resize Video to 480×720
    Frame Rate 30

    The rest of the settings are default

    Hi Neil,
    The setting will depend very much of the stuff you are trying to compress (4×3 or 16×9), and your target picture size, file size and data rate.

    Correct. The Resize numbers I posted are for a 16×9 source video. You can play with the sizes and cropping in Media Encoder to get the size and look you are targeting.
