  AVCHD Transcode Error

  FCP 6.0.1
  iMac 10.6.7
  2.5 GHz Intel Core i5

  Using Canon XA-10. Clips can be watched in Log & Transfer but when transcoding to Apple ProRes the processing freezes and a red stop sign appears. No information as to what the error is.

  Wondering if I need to update something (FCP?) or if I need to download a codec–but seems like I have everything I need, just not sure what this error is all about.

  Haven’t found a solution anywhere yet. Thanks for any help or resources.

  Couple of thoughts.

  Hard drive is full, or will be soon.

  Clip name is too long in L&T.

  Target Hard drive is not formatted to hfs+ (OS extended).

  FCP 6.0.1? Try running your updates and get it up to 6.0.6 and see if that helps. 6.0.1 was very buggy.
