When previewing a clip, there is a major GAMMA DIFFERENCE between play and stop.
Seems to me that the picture in play mode looks the wright one. But when i stop the picture
the picture looks brighter with a lower contrast.

It happens when one uses non-optimized media (non standard res or jpeg/tiff/png/h.264 compressor) or media on time-line is in preview mode and requires rendering (green line).

in my case, it was a QuickTime Uncompressed movie in HD format. So if FCP has that problem, it means that it is impossible to Color Correct any footage.

Take a look at sequence settings. Make sure they match the clip and the latter itself is in format compatible with FCP.

Thank you Everest for your suggestions about sequence settings.
You see, FCP changes the settings by it self and finds itself the most suitable codec.
So either manually or automatic the problem remains unsolved.

It’s drive speed and FCP lowering the resolution in order to ensure full frame playback. Faster drives help with this sometimes. But having a hardware IO card to a broadcast monitor or HDTV would help too, as the quality there doesn’t shift. ONly in the FCP interface will it.

Thank you Shane, seems that this is the only solution…
