  AUPitch change causes popping on speeded up music

  Hi,

  Im doing a musical video which includes a part where the music becomes speeded up for a moment. I’m not able to get it actually recorded at the faster speed so have attempted to speed it up manually (to 115%). This obviously makes the pitch higher Alvin the Chipmunks style to I thought I could whack on an AUPitch to bring it back down. It works except for some really annoying popping – is there anything I can do to get rid of this?

  The audio I have is 44.1khz, 16-bit stereo.

  Any suggestions would be much appreciated …

  Further to Dave’s good advice about sample rate, the best software for pitch changing is MPEX3, Pitch N Time and iZotope.

  Of those three iZotope RX2 is probably the best for a Mac system.
