    Hi there,

I’ve been experiencing a problem with FCP 6, I’m hoping to get some advice. I’m editing with FCP 6 and experiencing very frequent crashing without any error messages. I usually have a couple projects open that are between 50 – 120 mb, with one of those being 120 mb and the others being around 50 or 60 mb.

    Here are the stats.

    Mac OS X v 10.5.8

Processor: 2 X 2.26 GHZ Quad Core Intel Xeon

    Memory: 8 GB 1066 MHZ DDR3

    FCP v 6.0.6

Drives: HD One Cal Digit drives 10 TB.

    Thanks for any advice!

Thanks! Yes, we knew that about the project file size, but needed someone to scold us first. 🙂
Codec: XDCAM EX 1080i60 (35mb/s vbr) 29.97 fps

Thanks for the advice about the codec issue. We’ll keep that in mind if making the projects smaller doesn’t seem to be the solution.
Another related question: if we break up the projects so that they’re 30 mb, how many of those can we have open at once? Just one?
