  Text with Defocus Filter Jumps

  I’m trying to add a keyframed defocus effect to a text generator in FCP 7 so that the text goes from out of focus to in focus. I keyframed the effect, but 2 frames before the final keyframe the text jumps to a slightly different position. I did a full render and got the same thing. I checked my motion tab and there are no keyframes in the position parameter. I trashed the render files and re-rendered, still jumped. I tried reapplying the effect and that didn’t work. When I tried with a gaussian blur the text didn’t jump, but that didn’t produce the effect I wanted. Has anyone ever experienced this and know of anything else that I can do to fix it?

  Hi Scott,
  May help or not, but setting “Render Motion Effects: Best” should improve any animation.

  Well, in this case, “Render in High Precision” is the option that could help.
