    Hey folks,

I’ve been working on exporting HD projects for posting on Vimeo. Their recommended dimensions are 1280×720. My source video (& timeline) is 1440×1080, and when I export to 1280×720 the edges of the frame are cropped. This creates problems when graphic details extend to the edge of the image. Can anyone recommend a way to export so that the whole 1440×1080 frame will fit down into 1280×720? If you can help, I give you my thanks!

Hmm, I doubt that your footage is actually 1440×1080…usually that dimension applies to HDV footage.

FCP knows to stretch this footage to full raster aka 1920×1080.

My advice would be to change your Sequence Setting to Apple ProRes 422 1920×1080 – Render – export 1280x720p video – upload to Vimeo

P.S. I’m guessing you shot HDV (1080i), so it might be a good idea to deinterlace…with Vimeo as the final destination
