  • upgrading from 6.0.2 with fcp academic

I’m sure this has been covered in the forum before but i just did a search and couldn’t spot any threads. Ive got the fcp 6.0.2 academic version and i want to try and boost it up to 6.0.4. Now i know with the academic that you’re now allowed to upgrade to 7, but does the upgrade also not let you do 6.0.4 as well? and if so how exactly can i upgrade. I’ve tried going to my Apple software updates and it wont pull up FC or Motion
Seems like it should be easy but i cant find the answer.

    Thanks in advance

This is a free update. Software Update is the way to do this. The application has to be correctly named and at the top level of the Applications folder.

    All the best,

So my FCP was buried in a secondary folder within applications, just brought it to the top and the update came up. Thanks for the helping!
