  Compressor just stops

  Dear Everyone,

  Something odd is happening, and I don’t know where to start to look. When I send a video clip to compressor, it works for a while then just stops. I sent a one hour film clip to it yesterday, tried to compress it to iPad format and avi format and it just stops. I have tried this a number of time and it just stops working. I have left it for over 36 hours and it just stops. The clocks are still ticking, and the time remaining in the history is changing… but will never end.

  It seems to be like this for any video clip I send to compressor from Filal Cut.

  Any clues where I need to start to look to fix this?

  You’re obviously sending your encoding job to Compressor directly from the timeline. Instead, use Export>>Quicktime Movie to export a self contained Qt at current settings, and use that file in Compressor.
