Dealing with different frame sizes in multiclip sequences
Hi to all….
I had posted a question over a week a ago about syncing multiple cameras at an 5 hour event music show. I decided to use an electronic flash to “slate” each time the cameras started. Worked like a charm.Haven’t had an opportunity to use multicamera sequence until now, but when I go into the browser to select my clips to make them a multiclip sequence, it can’t do it because of different frame sizes. Yes, different frame sizes….(something that got overlooked because of camera operators issues).
The main camera (front and center) was a standard def camera 720×480. This was shot anamorphic. The close-up camera is a high def camera 1920×1080. There’s even a third camera roaming around, getting different angles and crowd cutaways…this was shot 720×480, but not anamorphic. I know, this potentially looks like a mess.
Since FCP multi cam doesn’t seem to be available under these circumstances, I’m simply pulling-up and down, on the opacity lines – on all three angles (where ever I see fit). Problem is, it’s kind of hard to ‘see fit’ on this approach.
Is there anyway I can use multicam sequence with different frame sizes? Can frame sizes be ‘cropped’ or changed permanently in some way, that makes them all the same? I just need the simplest way to do the right timing on camera switching. And again, thanks to every reply.
