I will be loading 1080i DVCPROHD footage for a project to be cut in FCP Studio that will consist of mostly 720px24p footage. I will be using a Panasonic 1200A HD deck connected to my mac pro via firewire. What is the best way to convert this footage?

    Nick,

in what format will you be delivering your final master. Will it be 1080i or 720p. Whichever format you have to deliver the project in determines what you should set the FCP sequence to. If you already have a 72024p timeline, simply add the 1080i footage and FCP will scale and convert it to match the 72024p footage in already in your timeline. You can also go the opposite way and create a 1080i sequence then add the 72024p fotoage. all you have to do after that is render.
