  Problems importing WMV into After Effects

  I’m trying to import a WMV file that I exported out from Premier Pro 2.0 into After Effects 7.0 but when I try to, it says:

  After Effects: AEGP Plugin WindowsMedia Import:
  Error reading Windows Media file.WMImport error: 0x3

  (5027 :: 12)

  Does anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

  you’ll have to export it from premier again as dv pal or something else, afx doesn’t like wmvs.

  More to the point, WMV is what we call a distribution format. It’s not really meant to be a production or file interchange format.
