  • Media goes unrendered (red) upon switching window layouts?

Posted by Dana Strom on May 22, 2011 at 10:30 pm

I’ve just run into an issue where media in my timeline which plays natively (light green “FULL” render bar) without problems in my sequence goes to unrendered upon switching window layouts ?!?!?!

    FCP7
Mac Pro 2×3 GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon
    5GB Ram
Working with ProRes 422 (HQ) and XDCam in a 1080 29.97 Pro Res (HQ) environment.

Everything had been going well for a few days until I changed chose a new window layout from the menu. These “light green FULL” realtime clips suddenly have gone red.

I trashed preferences and pulled up the project again – the render bar is now green “PREVIEW” but plays just fine. I can move the windows manually but choosing a new window arrangement from the menu throws them into RED unrendered world.

    Crazy, huh? Any thoughts?

Noticed this the other week in 7.0.3…
Just turn the timeline from realtime to safe and back again…and don’t use duplicated sequences – copy and paste instead.
    Must be a bug.
