ProRes Artifacts
Hi All! I’m relatively new to FCP, switched from Avid a few months ago. I’ve just encountered some funky stuff when exporting a finished edit to an Apple ProRes 422 LT NTSC DV QuickTime file. The best way I can describe it is “blue artifacts” that seem to move around with skin tone highlights. It only happens with certain pieces of video, all from the same source file (encoded with NTSC DV). Screenshot:

I’ve ruled out hardware, as I’ve not seen any other hardware failure indicators across the system, AND I can export to NTSC DV (not ProRes) with no problem. Encoding error, maybe? I will admit I have not run any hardware diags, but I just bought the box a year ago this Summer.
I’m running Snow Leopard (10.6.6) 2010 MacPro Octocore, 6 GB Ram, two Nvidia GeForce GT120s with dual 37″ HDTVs. Additional?
Thanks CC Forums!! 🙂
