  • Tapes not reading data…

    Hi,

I’ve just returned from a trip to Indonesia, whereby I did some filming in the jungle as well as beaches.

I have already captured 99% of the 23 hours that I shot whilst over there, but there is one tape which for some reason or another, cannot be read when trying to capture?!

I have tried capturing on several different cameras, as well as a deck… none of them are reading it? Its not even reading any timecode??

I know there is footage on there, as I labelled the tape.

I am also experiencing this ‘data loss’ for shorter periods on other tapes, same thing happens whereby the timecode disappears also.

The tapes I used were JVC ProHD 63 min.

Any ideas/previous experience would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

Sounds like dirty heads. Playback head if you’re lucky, but since it’s on all playback machines, it may have been record head in camera.

Will continue to research solutions… fingers crossed!!

    cheers,
