  .MOV extensions on export ?

  We have had great success in using Q Master and Automator to automate overnight exports from FCP. 99% of the time we are exporting HD assets which will require downconversion via windows machine. We have successfully setup a watch folder in the windows machine and in testing this has worked perfectly. The problem we have found is that all exports from FCP have hidden file extensions which means the Windows machine fails to spot the new files when they are moved to the watch folder. Does anyone know a workaround or simply how to ensure all file extensions are displayed. At the moment the only solution seems to be manually adding .MOV at the end of each file before moving them to the watch folder.

  On a Windows machine use Extension Changer to automate the addition of .MOV extension. Just drag the file who’s extension you would like to change. If you want to batch change the file extensions, then you can drag the files one by one or you can drag the whole folder(it will also ask if you would like to include the sub folders or not) which contains the files.

  After selecting the files, enter the extension you want to change it into and click Change.

  

  Since there is no restriction on the number of files who’s extension can be changed, you can change the extensions of as many files as you want, even if they are 1000s of files.
